Understanding Movies (10th Edition)

i havent "updated" in a while so i thought i would tell everyone whats going on. I started going to Compass Academy in August or September i cant remember exactly, but its a little film school in Grand Rapids. and everythings going pretty well. This monday im flying to Vancouver to go on some sets while there shooting so we can get an idea of how things work, so im pretty excited about that. Last weekend Me, Nate Cole, Zach, and Krissee entered into a huge 24 hour film festival that Compass puts on (you have 24 hours from the time your given a theme, a prop, a location you have to shoot, and a famouse line that you have to work into your movie. you have to write, shoot, edit, and turn in your short in 24 hours, if you're even 1 second late they dont let you enter it..) anyway the theme was the last 5 minutes of you life, we decided to do an over the top musical. anyway the screening was last friday night at the big theatre in studio 28. and our film won best picture (decided by a panel of judges consisting of an assistant director for Monk, Greys Anatomy, House, and a bunch of other shows and movies.) it also won people's choice (there were almost 800 people there.) And it also won the BAFA award, which means the people at the school chose it as best picture. so we won every award possible. by the end of the night we had won a thousand dollars cash, five hundred in scholarships, five hundred in order to help us with our next project, and a pass to get into the 24 in the spring for free. It was the first time in the seven years the film festival has been going that a single film has swept all the awards. so by the end of it all we had won a little over 2,000 dollars. anyway i think it was probably the most exciting night of my life. i deffinitly recommend that anyone with a camera and a way to edit participate in the spring...even though you have to stay up a full 24 hours, its such an awesome experiance. if anyone wants to see the short, i think we're going to try to put it on youtube, but we have to figure out some copywrite stuff first.

If there were reason for these miseries,
Then into limits could I bind my woes:
When heaven doth weep, doth not the earth o'erflow?
If the winds rage, doth not the sea wax mad,
Threatening the welkin with his big-swoln face?
And wilt thou have a reason for this coil?
I am the sea; hark, how her sighs do blow!
She is the weeping welkin, I the earth:
Then must my sea be moved with her sighs;
Then must my earth with her continual tears
Become a deluge, overflow'd and drown'd;
For why my bowels cannot hide her woes,
But like a drunkard must I vomit them.
Then give me leave, for losers will have leave
To ease their stomachs with their bitter tongues.

nobody talks that way anymore...blast!
